Uranus, the strange but wonderful world that gets mispronounced, and ignored much of the time. This planet has always captured my imagination since I was a kid. I am very fortunate to live at such a time where we can now study it up close and begin to understand it's characteristics. Observing the Uranus system never ceases to thrill me! Thanks for your neat podcast today.

Wow, this brins back memories! The Voyager mission flybys of Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune were the first planetary missions I ever covered as a reporter and led me back to school to study planetary science in the late 80s and early 90s. I remember trying to explain to an editor about Uranus... and then the day of the explosion, they didn't want anything more about Uranus -- they wanted me to find a story that linked JPL to the shuttle tragedy...

It was a tough day that day.

Thanks for the memories of that flyby.
